Josh is a 19-year-old college student at a local state university in Florida. He lives in Pine Crest, Miami with his mother, father, and two little sisters. He lives in an house not in a gated community, but with tons of surrounding land around it both in the front and back yards of the area. While he is at school he lives in the broward dorms and majors in business administration with a specialization in sports management. His only means of communications around campus are either taking the bus system, walking or ubering.
Josh is a sports freak and loves both playing and watching sports. Another thing he enjoys is going to the beach while he is at home, when he has the chance to catch a ride from someone since he does not have a car at school. Josh watches only a few select channels and shows on tv which include sportscenter, highly questionable, and the bachelor on ABC. Josh is a sophomore in college and still trying to grow his brand with experience and meeting new interesting people around campus.
The things that I have in common are that we both enjoy and love sports on many different platforms such as watching and playing sports. Another thing we have in common is that we are both business administration majors so we take similar courses. I think that it is not a coincidence that we both enjoy sports and are business majors because so many people in the world are majoring in business and want to always be growing their network. Overall, Josh is a typical customer and someone who has a lot of things in common with me.
Alex,
ReplyDeleteYou were very effective in portraying your customer Josh. After reading your post, I have a vivid image of the kind of customers you are after. I can see how creating a customer avatar can help you (and anyone planning a new venture) to better understand customer needs and create a better product for them. Regarding the things in common with the customer avatar I experienced the same results: my customer avatar also had a log in common with me. I agree it is not a coincidence, we are bound to our biases and mindsets. Great job with your post!
Alex,
ReplyDeleteI thought you did an incredible job of going very in-depth with this description (even more in-depth than I did). You managed to paint a very clear picture of who your target audience was and how you are going to interact with him based on your similarities. Even though you could have taken an easy way out by describing a less in-depth random college kid, you went through with the assignment and understood the point of it. Great job!
Alex, You did a great job with your customer avatar. You provided great detail about your prototypical customer which was very helpful in understanding who he is and what his needs are. In regarding to the things you had in common, I also had many things in common with my customer. I believe this is not a coincidence and is how many people are able to run successful businesses, because they know the need of their customers.
ReplyDeleteAlex,
ReplyDeleteYour post made me laugh but in a good way. You described this customer very intricately, down to his favorite show like the bachelor on ABC. Even though this sounds like someone you know, it also sounds like many students at UF. This is good because it means you will have a good customer base for the business. Many UF students are on the same page so you should find a good amount of business with this. Nice job
